Cortlin De Maine, CFP®

Wealth Advisor and Managing Associate

Cortlin joined De Maine Wealth Management in 2024 to support his father’s firm and establish a new office near Jacksonville, Florida. He brings with him a modern approach and has successfully integrated a wide range of technologies into the firm’s financial planning process. The resulting operational efficiencies allow both Cortlin and Mark to spend more time with clients.

Prior to joining the firm, Cortlin was a client associate and analyst at Rockefeller Capital Management. While there, he helped high-net-worth families manage and preserve their wealth, with a focus on supporting future generations. His past experience also includes supporting software startups with sales and business development strategies.

Cortlin has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he graduated with highest honors. He was selected as one of 12 incoming business students for the Scheller College of Business Dean’s Scholarship program. While at Georgia Tech, he was heavily involved in the business school and campus life. He was a member of the Georgia Tech Student Foundation’s investment committee, where he supported a $2 million endowment by researching and managing the portfolio’s energy positions. As a member of the Scheller Business Ambassadors, he helped promote and expand the business school’s presence both inside and outside of the university.

Cortlin has been immersed in finance since he was a child. As Mark’s son, he grew up with a father who was both a wealth manager and small business owner, which meant that finances and investing were frequently discussed in his household. He developed an early interest in finance from listening to his father talk about the markets, financial news and small business ideas.

Cortlin’s inspiration to join the finance industry was driven by his desire to help others achieve their goals. He draws upon his education and experience to help clients build, preserve and manage their wealth. His passion for helping others extends beyond his professional life, as Cortlin serves his community through several local organizations.

In 2026, Cortlin became a Certified Financial Planner© professional, a professional designation that required seven college-level courses across tax planning, estate planning, retirement planning and more. As a CFP© professional, Cortlin has agreed to follow the CFP© Board’s rigid ethics and fiduciary standards and complete additional continuing education to remain updated and informed on the latest developments that may impact his clients. This certification represents Cortlin’s lifelong commitment to providing the highest level of fiduciary guidance to the families and business owners he supports. [1]

Cortlin lives in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, with his dog, Frost. In his free time, he enjoys running, biking, golfing, surfing, fishing and anything that allows him to spend time outdoors.
